A UNLV SOCIOLOGY COMMITMENT The UNLV Department of Sociology is committed to an inclusive, civil society that protects free dialogue and is open to all viewpoints, as long as they respect others’ rights, integrity, and dignity. Alarmed by recent incidents of racism and xenophobia on university campuses, we reaffirm our determination to create a safe learning environment that welcomes people of all backgrounds and perspectives, and gives everyone a chance to flourish. We encourage all students, staff, and faculty to share your concerns, to report instances of incivility, to mobilize necessary resources, and to stand fast in the face of intimidation.
