Annual Report Academic Year 2013-2014 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The 2012-2013 Berkman Center Annual Report pointed to three key thematic areas of increased investment and attention for the upcoming year: 1) Internet health, including the relationship between new technologies, civic activity, public discourse, and democratic practice; 2) Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and the future of learning; and 3) the emerging institutional challenges of the digital transition, i.e., the regulatory, legal, and governance questions accompanying the blurring lines between online and offline spaces. Updates and significant milestones related to each of these thematic areas are described in the following sections of the Executive Summary.
