Martin Puchner (New York: Norton, 2018) [978-0393602869] Course Description This course offers a survey of modern and contemporary world literatures, roughly 1850-2020, covering a variety of genres, styles, and literary traditions. Ultimately, the course suggests that the study of transnational literary and visual narratives provides a window into the central dilemmas of our globalized century and a shared vocabulary to confront them.
